If we were indeed a Christian Nation, then we would adhere to the principles put forth by The Lord Jesus Christ.

As a nation we do not do so.

War is not a Christian principle.

Matthew 5:9 plainly states:

9Blessed are the peacemakers,
      for they will be called sons of God.

Read Matthew 5:43-47 and justify war for me please.

43"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' 44But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Allowing others to suffer in poverty is not a Christian principle.

Hard as it may be to accept, Christ was a socialist. In the book of Acts 2:42-47, it is written:

And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

Sort of sounds like someone named Karl Marx, who wrote;

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his need."

That is true Christianity, something that is sorely laacking in this country.

So, if the teabaggers can run around screaming "I want my country back", have I not the right indeed the obligation to quietly, as Jesus would speak, say I want my Christianity back?

As Abe Lincoln famously said:

"I am not so concerned as to whether God is on our side, as to whether we are on God's side."

Let us act like a nation of Christians and then I shall be more than happy to see America called a Christian nation.

As Tiny Tim said "God Bless Us Every one!"
